TAD Courses

Courses include:

  • Advanced 4x4 - correct use of 4X4 transmission, vehicle recovery and driving dynamics. Practical experience includes ascending, descending, side slopes, gullies, mud and personal safety hints.
  • On-road/ Off-road - encompasses the correct use of 4X4 transmission, vehicle recovery and driving dynamics. Practical experience includes ascending, descending, side slopes, gullies, mud and personal safety hints. Simulated emergency situations on the skidpan focus on ABS braking, cadence braking, lane changes, skid control, over steering and under steering.
  • Hijack Prevention - comprises of a theoretical session focusing on the general modus operandi of hijackers and creates avoidance awareness.
  • Dynamic Handling - designed to allow drivers to master skid control and collision avoidance. The course includes simulated emergency situations on the skidpan dealing with ABS braking, cadence braking, lane changes, skid control, over steering and under steering.
  • Defensive driving - comprises of a theoretical session followed by practical on road driving instruction and assessment of the ability to anticipate emergency and potentially dangerous situations and the correct manner to deal with them.
  • Toyota has found yet another way to make your driving experience more reliable and endurable. The first and only one in the country, the Skid Monster (a set of castering wheels, capable of rotating 360 degrees) is a simulator that allows our training staff to drive with learners in a controlled situation.
  • Removing the rear tyres, the Skid Monster is bolted in place and when driven with the castering device in a locked position, the Skid Monster handles like the average family car. However, whenever the instructor flips a switch to unlock the casters the back of the car swings, and simulates the effects of suddenly losing traction to the rear wheels -- resulting in a huge challenge.
  • Dozens of lessons can be taught to any driver, from the novice to the driver of an emergency vehicle, and each lesson helps the driver to learn and apply different driving behaviours.
